Welcome and thank you for applying to run a workshop at the 2009 ‘In the Hothouse’ Festival organised by the Melbourne Social Forum to be held at CERES environmental park on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th April 2009. Workshopss are a great way for you to bring new ideas, solutions and thoughts out into the public arena. Raise public awareness of the issues important to you and don't be afraid to challenge the status-quo.

Information and Conditions

  • Workshops will be run at the MSF at various spaces inside CERES Environmental Park, 8 – 10 Lee St, East Brunswick on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th of April between approximately 10am and 5.30pm.

  • It costs nothing to run a workshop, but you still need to pay for a normal MSF entry fee ($15 for a 2 day pass and $10 for a one day pass, or $5 concession for each day)

  • Workshop facilitators are required to advertise their workshop and the MSF in the Hot-house festival through their networks. We can provide fliers, website links and text for email send-outs.

  • Each workshop will run for a maximum of around 1 hour, however you can run your workshop for a shorter time.

  • Each workshop will be advertised and listed on the MSF website with links to your relevant organisations.

  • Most workshops will be held in outside spaces under naturally shaded areas.

  • MSF will provide approximately 10 to 20 chairs per workshop.

  • MSF will contact you closer to the event and let you know if your workshop application was successful and give you a tentative date and time for running your workshop. We may reply to you suggesting that you join forces with another organisation to co-present a workshop in the interest of collaboration.
