- Rod Quantock
Rod is probably Melbourne’s best loved and well known comedian and activist. A veteran of too many battles to mention here, he’s always a pleasure to have around.
- Val Plumwood
Val is a world renowned Ecofemminist and Australian environmental activist. Author of Feminism and the Mastery of Nature and Environmental Culture, Val brings a unique and radical perspective to the discussion and is sure to leave us all with food for thought.
- David Risstrom
David was the Green’s lead senate candidate for Victoria in the last federal election. This environmental activist, barrister, councilor and Senate candidate commands an impressive wealth of knowledge. His web page can be found HERE.
- Kenneth Davidson
Kenneth is one of Australia’s foremost journalist and economist. He’s the voice of reason in a world gone mad with economic rationalism and actually understanding the economics of it all too. You can see some of Kenneth’s writings HERE.

- Tony Biggs
Biggsy is perhaps Melbournes best loved radio presenter. His show on RRR, ‘On The Blower‘ has near cult status so he will surely provide us with some entertaining commentary for the Social Forum.
- Frank Fisher
Assoc. Prof. Frank Fisher is the Director of the Graduate School of Environmental Science. Frank has some rather challenging ideas about the environment and the way we should live. - Rob Thorpe
The man behind the Black GST. If you ever wanted to learn about Australia’s forgotten history then listen to 3CR’s ‘Fire First’ (11 – 12 noon Wednesdays). Here you are sure to learn of the legal ramifications of Australia’s refusal to sign a treaty, one of the only nations not to do so with their indigenous people. - Donna Mulhearn
Donna is a fantastic peace activist from Sydney, who has been to Iraq as a human shield and later as a voluntary aid worker, to Palestine, and recently to the US to meet with peace activists there.
- Lillian Holt
Lillian Holt is the Vice-Chancellor’s Fellow at the University of Melbourne and the former Director of the University’s Centre for Indigenous Education. Born on Cherbourg Aboriginal Settlement, Queensland, Australia. Lillian was in the first wave of Aboriginal graduates in Australia and subsequently has worked formally in Aboriginal education for thirty plus years. Lillian is passionately interested in people, words, and healing race relations in Australia. In 2004, she was awarded a Gandhi/King/Ikeda Peace Prize by Morehouse College for her work in peace and reconciliation and was also named in the top ten finalists of The Bulletin magazine’s Smart 100 Society section.
